What is the format of the online courses?

Online courses are designed to fit your schedule. Most classes are asynchronous over a seven- or eight-week session, allowing you to complete coursework throughout the course within established deadlines.

All of our online programs are developed and supported by Cedarville faculty, and our undergraduate online programs are designed using OLC’s Quality Scorecard to support a high-quality online learning experience built on proven best practices. 

How will I be supported as an online student?

From application to graduation, you’ll be supported by individuals who care about your success. Admissions counselors, academic advisors, faculty, and support staff are here to help you throughout your educational journey.

Can I start online and finish on campus (or vice versa)?

Undergraduate students may move between corresponding online and residential programs as their circumstances change, with coursework transferring directly between eligible programs.

All Dual Enrollment courses apply to Cedarville's online and residential undergraduate programs and are also transferable, should you choose to attend another university.

Graduate programs are only offered in a single modality.

How can I experience the Cedarville community as an online student?

Online students are an important part of the Cedarville community. Through coursework, discussions, chapel opportunities, and interaction with faculty and classmates, you’ll remain connected to a Christ-centered learning community from wherever you are. 

Chapel is livestreamed each weekday at 10 a.m., and online students are invited to tune in to worship with our residential community. 

How affordable are Cedarville’s online undergraduate degrees?

When are the start dates?

Online undergraduate and graduate programs offer six start dates throughout the year, giving you flexibility to begin your studies when the timing is right for you:

Can I study online as an international student?

Yes. International students can complete many Cedarville Online programs from their home countries without needing a visa. If you have more questions, please reach out to our International Student Services team.

What technology is required, and what if I have tech problems?

Students should have access to a computer that meets Cedarville’s technical recommendations. Cedarville’s IT team offers an extensive knowledge base and individualized support through their service catalog. In addition, there is 24/7 support for Canvas, our learning management system. 

Will my diploma refer to an online degree?

No. Cedarville diplomas do not distinguish between online and residential programs. All graduates receive the same Cedarville University diploma. 

I’m interested, but my major isn’t offered. Are other programs coming?
