Summer Studies - Information
"It was challenging but worth it!" "It's a must."
June 14-27, 2008
Why Summer Studies?
If you are like many high school students you are already looking ahead to college. Taking college courses, living on campus, and being on your own will help you prepare for your transition to college. In just two weeks you will earn 3 college semester credits! Many see this as an opportunity to get ahead on studies so their course load will be lightened when they are full-time students. Others enjoy the idea of working on required courses in the summer so they can take personal interest courses during the school year. Parents appreciate the fact that students are able to get ahead and save tuition dollars while doing it. We've also found that the students who come to Summer Studies form strong friendships that often last all through their college experience. Any way you look at it, Summer Studies is a great idea!
Who may attend?
Christian students like you! Students who have completed their junior or senior year in high school with a 3.0 (B) grade point average or better may attend.
What else will I do during Summer Studies?
You'll build friendships through numerous activities like field trips, picnics, a day at Kings Island amusement park, fellowship meetings, and just hanging out.
What will it cost?
The program only costs $2125. This cost includes room, board, and tuition for the two weeks. Books and course fees are extra.
Alumni Scholarship
Sons or daughters of Cedarville University graduates who have not previously attended Summer Studies may qualify for a $1000 tuition scholarship. Students interested in applying for this scholarship should indicate on the Summer Studies application that at least one parent graduated from Cedarville.
Need-based Scholarships
A limited number of $500 scholarships based on demonstrated need are also available to students not qualifying for the alumni scholarship. Consideration for scholarships is based on the date of your acceptance and the availability of funds. To apply, you may download a printable copy of the scholarship form [pdf] or fill out the online application. Need-based tuition Scholarships will be awarded after March 31, 2008.
