ACT and SAT Testing Information
Cedarville encourages you to take the ACT or SAT test at least twice — once in the spring of your junior year and again in the fall of your senior year.
ACT Assessment
In February 2005, ACT added a 30-minute writing test as an optional component to the ACT assessment. Cedarville University recommends that you take the ACT writing test, but it is not required for admission.
Visit www.actstudent.org to learn more about the ACT writing test.
Be sure to report your ACT scores to Cedarville University using the ACT code number 3245.
The SAT®
The SAT® includes three sections: math, critical reading, and writing. All three sections are required components.
Visit www.sat.org to learn more about the SAT.
Be sure to report your SAT scores to Cedarville University using the SAT code number 1151.
Policies Governing the Use of ACT & SAT scores
Admission & Scholarship Decisions
Cedarville University always considers your highest ACT composite score or SAT combined score (critical reading and math) from a single test date. We do not recombine or average SAT or ACT scores from multiple test dates.
Proficiency Requirements
Upon enrollment at the University students must demonstrate proficiency in English and mathematics. For proficiency purposes, Cedarville University will consider the highest subject score from multiple test dates of the ACT or SAT.
English proficiency can be met with either a score of 21 on the English section of ACT, or a score of 500 on the critical reading section of the SAT.
Math proficiency can be met with either a score of 19 on the math section of the ACT, or a score of 500 on the math section of the SAT.
