Biography
Soon after my husband, Mike, and I were married, I joined the Cedarville family as a member of the financial aid staff in 1991. I quickly developed a passion for helping students, but financial aid resources were often slight. My heart was broken for their needs. I prayed consistently for God’s intervention. His answer did not disappoint me, but, it did surprise me!
In 1998, the University decided to ask alumni and friends to help students by doubling our scholarship endowment—increasing it by $5 million in 5 years. Guess who they asked to lead the initiative? I didn’t know a lot about fundraising, but I knew God would bless anyone who invested in the lives of these exceptional young Christians. That was enough for me.
I’ve learned a lot since then. I understand the difference between a FLIP Unitrust and a Straight Unitrust, and I know when to use IRS Form 8283. I’ve seen our endowment quadruple to $19 million. Our gift planning assets have grown to $7 million, and our alumni giving rate is on the rise from 6.6% in 2007 to 16% in 2008.
But my most treasured experience at Cedarville has been seeing God use faithful individuals—even those with modest resources—to meet the needs of others. I am grateful for each student who taught me about trusting in God’s provision and for each donor who taught me about responding sacrificially and joyously to His call.

Interests
- Reading. I usually have two or three books going at the same time—a practice my husband will never understand.
- Outdoor activity. I love spending time outside – walking, biking, canoeing, etc.
- Traveling. Planes, trains, automobiles…doesn’t matter. I just love exploring God's creation and meeting new people. Haven’t crossed an ocean yet, but I'm still young.
- Playing games (Monopoly, Cranium, Scrabble, and Playstation).
