Establish a Scholarship - Scholarships are Essential

We appreciate your interest in establishing a Cedarville University scholarship. It is critically important for us to have a broad range of scholarships available to our student body because Cedarville University does not practice significant tuition discounting and Cedarville University does not accept direct government funding.

Cedarville University Does Not Practice Significant Tuition Discounting

The Cedarville University tuition structure is the product of a strong institutional belief in the free enterprise system and fiscally-conservative policies. Cedarville University does not participate in the common practice of significant tuition discounting. In other words, we do not charge some students substantially more than the cost of their education so we can reallocate the excess to other students as financial assistance.

Many colleges and universities artificially inflate the cost of education, charge excessive tuition and fees, and then redistribute as much as 50 percent of tuition income as institutional financial aid. At Cedarville University, not only do we charge each student the same, we make sure students do not pay the full cost of their education. Gifts cover a portion of each operating budget in addition to every capital project and new program. We do not apply tuition and fees toward these costs. We make every effort to provide the highest quality education at the most reasonable cost.

Cedarville University Does Not Accept Direct Government Funding

While we encourage our students to use available government grants, scholarships, and loans, Cedarville University as an institution does not seek or accept monetary assistance from local, state, or federal government sources. The cost of a Cedarville University education is provided entirely through tuition, fees, and gifts.

Cedarville University's educational charges average 25 percent less than other universities offering comparable programs. Even in light of our relatively low costs, many students need additional financial assistance. Donor generosity, expressed in scholarship dollars, becomes the source that allows many students to remain in school. Establishing and funding a scholarship agreement with Cedarville University is an excellent way to give students the opportunity to obtain an education consistent with biblical truth.
