It's hard to believe, but Getting Started Weekend — August 16–18 — is just a week away. Your student is excited, you may be nervous, and you both probably have a lot of questions! We’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions we get from parents to help as you prepare. We can't wait to have you on campus!

Where can I find all the Getting Started information?

Visit the Getting Started website to find the complete weekend schedule, FAQs, and more.

When should my son or daughter be on campus?

  • Parents of new students, we recommend coming early on Friday, August 16, to maximize your time. Registration officially begins at 9 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m.
  • Your student must be on campus by 6 p.m. on August 17 for Jacket Fest. We want your student to meet his or her peers and begin creating lifelong relationships.
  • We recommend continuing students begin arriving on Friday, August 16, after 3 p.m.

What happens when I arrive at Cedarville?

  • Enter Cedarville on OH-72 and follow the arrows and tents. (Look for the Shell gas station, which is right across the street from the main entrance on University Boulevard.)
  • When you turn onto University Boulevard, tune your radio to 99.5 FM for instructions on the Yellow Jacket Check-In process and safety procedures for Getting Started Weekend.
  • Stay in your car while getting cheered on by current students and proceed to registration, where you will be handed a welcome packet with your student's residence hall key and ID.

What can I do while my student enjoys the Getting Started festivities?
