Among Nation's Best for Private Scholarships
Cedarville ranks among the top 100 schools in the country for students obtaining private scholarships.
According to a recent study by LendEDU, Cedarville University students are among the nation’s best at earning private scholarships. LendEDU is an online resource that provides college students with information about scholarships, student loans and loan refinancing.
Cedarville ranked 20th in the country in the average dollar amount ($1,348) of private scholarships obtained by undergraduate students. The study surveyed 1,000 different colleges and universities and was based on the average amount of non-need based private scholarship funding per student.
According to the College Board, more than $122 billion in scholarship funding is awarded each year in the United States. Scholarships represent the best way to help offset the cost of college as they do not have to be paid back like student loans.
The LendEDU study found that students winning the most private scholarships come from small to mid-sized institutions. Scholarships are becoming more and more important for students as they plan for their financial future after college.
According to the study, just 0.03 percent of students receive a full-ride scholarship to cover all college costs, and nearly a third of students don’t attend their first-choice college due to finances.
Cedarville University also provides access to more than 250 donor-funded scholarships and a variety of institutional scholarships. More information on Cedarville’s scholarship opportunities can be found by visiting www.cedarville.edu/financialaid.
