Jenerette Selected to NASFAA Board
Kim Jenerette, executive director of financial aid, has been elected to the NASFAA Board of Directors.
In the ever-changing world of federal financial aid for college students, Cedarville University is in position to be one of the leaders that will help shape the future of financial aid. Kim Jenerette, executive director of financial aid and a 1983 Cedarville graduate, has been appointed to the board of directors for the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).
“The opportunity to serve on the NASFAA board of directors is a huge honor, but most importantly, it gives Cedarville a seat at the table when it comes to anything related to student financial aid,” said Jenerette. “It gives us the opportunity to have a voice in pending financial aid legislation that is put before Congress, and it gives us the opportunity to work with peer institutions on the innovation and delivery of student aid.”
Jenerette is one of six at-large representatives to serve on the board of directors, as voted on by NASFAA members from around the country. He will serve alongside board members from Indiana University, the University of Missouri and the University of South Florida, among others.
“As a board of directors, we’ll have the opportunity to meet regularly with White House staff to give them ideas about what we would like to see done in regard to financial aid,” said Jenerette. “Right now, there are a lot of changes being made to many of the federal student loan programs, and Cedarville is now in a position to positively influence how those programs operate.”
The NASFAA is comprised of more than 20,000 financial aid professionals from over 3,000 colleges and universities around the nation. The organization provides professional development for financial aid administrators and, most importantly, advocates for public policies that increase student access and success.
