U.S. News & World Report Gives CU High Marks
Cedarville ranked highly for engineering, military friendliness by U.S. News & World Report
Cedarville University, according to recent rankings by U.S. News and World Report, is a premier university. The national publication ranked Cedarville No. 12 among all Midwest universities, No. 3 for most military-friendly and No. 42 among the best undergraduate engineering programs in the nation. Cedarville University also ranked top among all Christian universities in Ohio.
"Cedarville University exists for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ, and everything done in the name of Christ should be done with excellence,” said Cedarville President Dr. Thomas White. “While we work as unto the Lord, it pleases me that others have also noted the quality of our University. Affirmations like this one provide an expanded platform for our institution and our graduates as we engage the world with the Gospel."
As the third-ranked military-friendly university in the Midwest, Cedarville has become known for its commitment to providing affordable educational opportunities, and providing educational benefits and financial aid to service members and their families through the Yellow Ribbon program.
Cedarville’s engineering program, ranked No. 42 nationally, has long been known as a leader in the academic discipline. Several of its students are recognized annually for excellence in the classroom, including students who regularly compete — and win — the World Solar Splash competition. Cedarville teams have won nine of the past 11 world competitions.
The U.S. News rankings are based on a set of performance indicators of excellence, including graduation and retention rates, academic reputation and financial and faculty resources. Cedarville University scored well in these areas.
