Cedarville welcomes former NFL All-Pro center to chapel
Former NFL center Jeff Hartings will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Nov. 29.
Jeff Hartings, former Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers center, will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Hartings was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the Steelers’ 2005 Super Bowl championship team.
Hartings played for Penn State University from 1992-95, where he was a first-team All-American in 1994 and 1995.
After playing for the Detroit Lions from 1996-2000, Hartings signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2001. He played in the NFL for 11 seasons before retiring in 2006 following a knee injury. He now coaches football at Worthington Christian High School in Worthington, Ohio.
Hartings is an NFL spokesman for All Pro Dad, an organization that empowers men to become heroes to their children, helping fathers love and lead their families.
Hartings and his wife, Rebecca, have eight children. They are ministry-focused, involved in church and outside ministries and conduct Bible studies every morning with their kids before school.
