Heath Lambert to speak in Cedarville University chapel
The highly respected pastor, professor, and executive director of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors will speak on campus on Thursday, Sept. 7.
Dr. Heath Lambert, executive pastor of discipleship and community life at First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, will speak in chapel on Thursday, Sept. 7, in Cedarville University's Jeremiah Chapel.
Lambert is also executive director of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). The ACBC has certified counselors and counseling instruction centers in 29 countries, making it the largest biblical counseling organization worldwide.
Lambert earned his Bachelor of Arts in biblical and theological studies and political science from Gordon College. He earned both his Master of Divinity degree in Christian ministry and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Lambert is also a faculty member at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and its undergraduate institution, Boyce College, where he has taught classes since 2006.
An accomplished author, Lambert has written five published books and authored multiple scholarly articles for a host of academic journals. He is a founding council board member of The Biblical Counseling Coalition. In addition, Lambert serves on the editorial boards of The Journal of Family Ministry and The Journal of Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.
His most recent project is a lecture video series titled “A Theology of Biblical Counseling Video Lectures: The Doctrinal Foundations of Counseling Ministry.” Lambert subscribes to the principle that good theology leads to good counseling. The series emphasizes the importance of understanding God and using that knowledge to aid counselees. This video series is scheduled for release Sept. 12, 2017.
