JacketConnect Creates Alumni, Student Career Bridge
JacketConnect program allows students to connect online with alumni to receive career advice
Cedarville University students now have a new venue to connect with alumni. Through “JacketConnect,” current students now have a way to establish networking opportunities with alumni, empowering them personally and professionally. The new program, which began Feb. 15, currently has 156 students and 711 advisers registered.
JacketConnect is a mentorship and engagement platform powered by Wisr, a tech startup based in Cleveland. Wisr makes it easy for students and alumni to create JacketConnect accounts by offering a sign-up option to import profile information from an existing LinkedIn account.

Students can view profiles of hundreds of potential advisers – which includes alumni, parents and friends of the university.
Students can choose advisers and request a consultation session. JacketConnect will help take care of the introduction and all of the session scheduling involved.
“Cedarville University alumni really care about our students because they’ve been in their shoes and want to be a help,” said Stephanie Carroll, director of alumni relations and annual giving, who helped set up the program. “JacketConnect puts mentoring in the hands of our students in a way they’ve never experienced before.”
Wisr developed JacketConnect in partnership with career services and alumni relations offices at Cedarville University, Case Western Reserve University, Denison University, Oberlin College and the University of Chicago.
“This is a great way for alumni to give back to Cedarville University, and to empower the next generation of great Christian leaders,” said Ken Rucker, associate director of career services.
