Nearly 100 companies expected for CU's fall career fair
Cedarville will host its first career fair of the year on September 27.
On Wednesday, September 27, Cedarville University will hold its first career fair of the year in the Doden Field House from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. More than 90 companies and schools will participate, searching for interns, full-time employees and graduate students.
An anticipated 600-plus students from all majors are planning to participate and will meet representatives from Honda, Boeing, Salem Media, Columbus Police Department, Procter & Gamble, Navy Nuclear Program, Northrop Grumman, IRS, FBI, General Electric, Ohio State University, Xavier University and many others.
“We live in a digital world where many companies hire employees without the opportunity to meet in person,” said Jeff Reep, director of career services. “That face-to-face contact is so valuable. This career fair also provides the opportunity to practice interaction and presentation skills.”
Cedarville boasts a 97 percent job and graduate school placement rate within six months post graduation. Many of these jobs are found via career fairs. Last year, the FBI hired four interns, Honda hired four, Northrop Grumman hired nine and several students were hired by Reynolds and Reynolds.
The career fair will also provide an opportunity for students to have a professional LinkedIn photo taken by university photographer Scott Huck.
Students who register before the event will be entered to win a $500, $300 or $200 scholarship.
“Career fairs are valuable for students of all years and all majors,” said Reep. “We hope to keep growing and get more companies on campus to see what incredible students we have.”
