Faculty and Staff of the Year Honored
Professor of computer engineering Dr. Clint Kohl and university photographer Scott Huck are this year's Faculty and Staff of the Year honorees.
Cedarville University’s Dr. Clint Kohl, professor of computer engineering, and Scott Huck, university photographer, received Cedarville University’s 2017-2018 Faculty and Staff of the Year awards, respectively.
Kohl has been a faculty member at Cedarville University since 1994. He is the faculty advisor for Cedarville University’s American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) robotics team. Since 2001, he has provided guidance to each robotics team member to encourage growth and learning.
Kohl received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) from South Dakota State University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (M.S.E.E.) from the University of North Dakota and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in computer engineering from Iowa State University.
He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Society for Engineering Education, where he publishes and presents his work at conferences.
After receiving the Faculty of the Year Award, Kohl said, “I was overwhelmed and humbled when I learned that I was this year’s recipient of the Faculty of the Year award. I want to thank the students for their support and the many, many people who have invested in me. I am so blessed to be able to work at Cedarville University, where I have the opportunity to combine my passion for Christ and my passion for teaching engineering.”
Huck has been taking photographs at Cedarville University since 1992. Huck received his degree in commercial applied photography from the Ohio Institute of Photography in 1987.
Huck has enjoyed traveling the world through missions trips and study abroad experiences over his 23 years at Cedarville. He has visited Italy, Portugal, Kosovo, South Africa and Guatemala. He particularly enjoys photographing city streets.
“God has been so good to me, and I am blessed to be doing something that I enjoy for so long,” said Huck, after receiving the Staff of the Year award. “I love working at Cedarville University. I am blessed that my wife and girls support me in my passion of photography. My family is a huge support to me and what I do. I certainly do not do my job to get recognition, but I am honored and humbled to receive the award.”
