Cedarville Stories Podcast: A Trophy of God's Grace
Retired professor Mike DiCuirci helped shape Cedarville's nationally acclaimed music program.
For 37 years, Mike DiCuirci served the Cedarville music program as a member of the music faculty. He helped shape a nationally acclaimed program, founded the jazz and symphonic bands, developed the college pep band and wrote the school fight song.
Mike came to faith in Jesus Christ as a young man after surviving a serious alcohol problem, one that nearly took his life. He started thinking about faith as a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and then sought Jesus at a Christian concert and though a seminar about family at a local church. Mike and his wife of 45 years, Joann, committed their lives to Christ together while meeting with their pastor.

Mike relishes sharing this story because Jesus gets the credit and honor. He knows that he became a new man when he met the Lord. No wonder his life verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things pass away; behold, all things become new.”
“I experienced that transformation,” he shares in the podcast. “Everyone who trusts in Christ, whether they’re young, old, dramatic or not dramatic (story of salvation), is a walking miracle and has a life message to share.” It’s easy to see why colleagues refer to Mike DiCuirci as a trophy of God’s grace.
