Cedarville Stories Podcast: Bold Trust

Cedarville 2019 alumna Virginia Walker was serving in an emergency room in the Congo two weeks after commencement. She communicated with other medical staff, who spoke French or Lingala, with the help of a translator. Only a loving Father who knew that His child wanted to know the true meaning of “bold” would arrange such circumstances.

Back in the United States, Walker, who now cares for emergency room patients in Lansdowne, Virginia, outside Washington, D.C., has learned the limits of her personal resources, but discovered the unsearchable riches of her Heavenly Father. She lived with pain and suffering during her two months in Africa in a way she never had before. She fought for the lives of patients against tremendous obstacles, especially a 5-year-old named Lily.

Her time in the Congo prepared her well for what God would bring next in her life, the battle with the deadly coronavirus pandemic. However, through every moment, whether in the Congo or the U.S., she has learned to “behold Christ’s glory with a yielded heart and an expectant faith.”
