Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy class of 2020 currently has a first-time pass rate of 92.5% on the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX).

Cedarville University’s School of Pharmacy class of 2020 currently has a first-time pass rate of 92.5% on the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX), which is higher than both state and national averages.

“Our faculty believe in personally committing to each student's success,” explained Dr. Aleda Chen, interim dean of the school of pharmacy and associate professor of pharmacy practice. “We work with all of our students to ensure they stay on track with preparing for the NAPLEX, providing many opportunities to address challenging areas, while also helping them gain the skills they need to be excellent pharmacists.”

The current state average NAPLEX first-time pass rate is 92.1% and the national average is 91.7%. Forty Cedarville pharmacy graduates took the NAPLEX this year that contributed to Cedarville’s high passing rate. Passing NAPLEX tests pharmacy graduates’ knowledge of the practice of pharmacy and is a key aspect of getting licensed as a pharmacist.

“We recognize and foster the unique gifts and talents of our students through many different endeavors,” said Chen. “We also have unity in our purpose of preparing academically excellent pharmacists that live life missionally to serve Christ.”
