Dr. James Hilton, lead pastor and teacher at The Journey at First Baptist in Orange City, Florida, will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 21-22. Chapel begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

After growing up in a pastor’s home, Hilton attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando to study business communications. While in college, he served as a youth minister.

Hilton committed his life to full-time ministry after graduation and continued his education at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, receiving a Master of Divinity in biblical languages and a doctorate in systematic theology with an emphasis in ecclesiology.

Hilton continued to lead ministries during his time in seminary but knew that he wanted to pastor a local church.

In 2004, Hilton became the lead pastor and teacher for the Journey. Since then attendance at the church has risen from 100 people to 1,000 people.
