Cedarville Stories Podcast: Biblical Integrity From Generation to Generation
Using athletics to share the Gospel. Pointing to Jesus in a small-group ministry. Around the globe on missions. Disciple-making. Christian education. Shaun and Diane Hannay’s life reflects the values and priorities they learned at Cedarville.
Christian higher education started with Shaun’s parents, who are alumni of Philadelphia College of Bible. When Shaun’s brother, Scott, was preparing for his post-secondary journey, an aunt recommended Cedarville. After one campus visit, Scott knew where he would be attending college. This began a family legacy at Cedarville that includes Shaun and Diane and siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. So far, 13 family members have earned degrees from Cedarville, with more on the way.
Beyond their commitment to Cedarville academics, five members of the extended Hannay family, including Shaun, have competed with Yellow Jacket athletics on the track & field team, including Shaun and Diane’s son, Luke.
In their careers, Shaun has served Christ in the world of business, while Diane has been a Christian school educator for more than 30 years. Diane has also written a book, What Is God's Plan for Me? She shares the Gospel with children and offers lessons on how to live for Christ in their young lives.
“Our desire is to see the Gospel move forward,” Diane shares during the podcast. “Cedarville has uncompromisingly maintained its priority to the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. Everything we do is formed by those teachings — whether you’re an athlete, whether you’re in the classroom, whether you’re in business — the biblical integrity that we learned there has really been foundational in everything we do.”
