Cedarville Stories Podcast: Life With Christ is an Adventure
Looking to explore the lava tubes around Mount Saint Helens in Washington? How about enjoying a bottle of gourmet root beer on your deck on a beautiful summer night? Matt Dearden, director of undergraduate admissions, is the right guy for you.
att likes to try new experiences and enjoys testing his limits. Like going to law school at the University of Cincinnati even though no one in his family had ever done so. Or achieving elite status as a root beer reviewer — no joke — along with two friends.
Or giving up a well-paying, American dream kind of career to return to his alma mater to serve the Lord, admissions staff, and students.
For Matt, the adventure he loves the most is exploring the ways he has been created by his Heavenly Father and learning how he can serve in diverse ways because of God’s grace.
The same counsel he offers prospective students could just as easily serve as Matt’s personal philosophy:
“Yes, you’re going to work hard; yes, there’s going to be a lot of opportunities for you,” he says during the podcast. “But more often than not, you’re just going to be walking through open doors. Just be open to the experiences that will be available to you. Cedarville’s a phenomenal place to experience that.”
