Forum to Explore Impact of 9/11
How 9/11 changed America 20 years ago with the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shakesville, Pennsylvania will be the topic of conversation in a special one-hour forum Friday, Sept. 10 at Cedarville University.
How 9/11 changed America 20 years ago with the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shakesville, Pennsylvania will be the topic of conversation in a special one-hour forum Friday, Sept. 10at Cedarville University. The event, sponsored by the Center for Political Studies, will be held in the Center for Biblical and Theological Studies (BTS) room 104 from 3:30-4:30 pm. The event will be livestreamed on the Cedarville website, YouTube Live, and Facebook Live, and is open to Cedarville University students (media are welcome to attend).
Panelists for this event include Dr. Jeff Haymond, dean of the school of business administration, Dr. Mark Caleb Smith, director of the center for political studies, and Jeff Reep, director of career services. Dr. Haymond was serving in the Pentagon when the terrorists slammed the plane into the Pentagon; He was uninjured. Jeff Reep is a father of three U.S. Marines, including one son who led his troops in Afghanistan during the final two weeks before the U.S. military pullout last month. Dr. Smith is a noted expert on constitutional law and brings a unique perspective to this conversation.
Each panelist will address the topic, "How 9/11 Changed America" from their unique perspectives in opening remarks. Mark D. Weinstein, executive director of public relations, will moderate the forum and will ask each panelist prepared questions. Individuals attending the forum will be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions to the panelists following their opening remarks.
