Maple Tree Cancer Alliance Founder to Speak

Maple Tree Cancer Alliance is a nonprofit offering physical rehabilitation for cancer patients, which can help increase treatment effectiveness.

Dr. Karen Wonders, founder and executive director of Maple Tree Cancer Alliance, will speak in chapel at Cedarville University on Thursday, March 18. Chapel begins at 10 a.m. and can be livestreamed online.

The Maple Tree Cancer Alliance is a nonprofit offering physical rehabilitation for cancer patients, which can help increase treatment effectiveness. Wonders is also an exercise physiology professor at Wright State University.

Wonders holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in exercise science from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of Northern Colorado. Wonders wanted to make a difference in the health of her patients and wanted to point them to Christ, so she pursued a Master of Ministry degree from Cedarville.

Her husband, Andrew, is an assistant professor of sport business management at Cedarville. They have seven children, affectionately known as The Seven Wonders.
