Cedarville University is giving prospective students the opportunity to learn of the many careers in health care and its academic programs that will prepare them for meaningful careers during Healthcare Exploration Day on Friday, Sept. 15.

At this healthcare-focused event, Cedarville academic leaders will introduce future students to Cedarville’s eight healthcare programs, including athletic training, nursing, allied health, pharmacyscience and math (pre-med), the PA program, social work and EMT that provide students a chance to dive deeper into some of the healthcare programs.

“Healthcare Exploration Day allows us to showcase the breadth of our health care programs,” said Matt Dearden, associate vice president for enrollment management. “We want the students to see how Cedarville is the national destination for Christian students who want to study any variety of health care-related fields.”

The day-long event includes a tour of campus and two department-specific sessions that provide the students with information on healthcare programs that most interest them. Lunch is provided.

“Representatives from all the major health-related departments and schools are involved in the day,” said Dearden. “Students and faculty from pharmacy to nursing to pre-med to allied health will be interacting with prospective students and parents as they explore Cedarville's health care programs.”

Cedarville’s health care programs provide a biblical worldview, excellent preparation, state-of-the-art facilities and a vibrant community.

“Many students know that they want to work in health care someday, but they don't know exactly which direction to pursue when they come to college,” said Dearden. “A day like this allows them to see and explore all of the different options firsthand.”
