Cedarville Students To Carry Banner at 2024 Ohio March for Life
Two years ago, the United States Supreme Court overturned the contentious Roe v. Wade decision on abortion, sending the matter to each state for its voters to decide. While some states set laws in place to restrict abortions, Ohio legalized abortion. On Friday, Oct. 4, 100 Cedarville University students are joining the battle for life by leading the March for Life rally in Columbus, Ohio.

Meanwhile, pro-life advocates in the Buckeye State continue to fight for the unborn child, and on Friday, Oct. 4, 100 Cedarville University students are joining this battle by leading the March for Life rally in Columbus, Ohio. The march begins at noon.
“We count it a great honor that the Ohio March for Life has chosen Cedarville as its 2024 banner carrier,” said Dr. Andrew Harris, associate professor of communication and faculty representative for Cedarville’s pro-life group. “It is one thing to be pro-life in principles, but another to act upon those convictions. The Ohio March for Life is a great opportunity to get involved and speak for the voiceless.”
Jason de Mets, an Abington, Pennsylvania, student who serves as president of the Cedarville Students for Life chapter, will hold the banner alongside fellow officers Paige Johnson, sophomore political science and international studies major from Eldridge, Iowa; Ruby Stedman, sophomore communication major from Hanover, Ohio; Harleigh Brunette, senior biblical studies major from Kaukauna, Wisconsin; Haley Mast, senior communication major from Newark, Ohio, and Braedon Erwin, senior political science major from Troy, Ohio.
“Being able to represent Cedarville at the Ohio March for Life is a privilege,” said de Mets. “Being a part of Students for Life has expanded my knowledge and provided endless resources to get involved.”
The Cedarville Students for Life chapter regularly partners with other pro-life organizations, including Dayton Right for Life Foundation and Students for Life of America, to speak for the unborn, to educate and inform students and to aid women in desperate situations.
