9Marks Conference Equips Church Leaders

by Victoria Stearns, Public Relations Writer

The fourth annual 9Marks Pastors Conference will be held at Cedarville University on November 12-13. The conference is hosted by 9Marks Ministries, whose goal is to equip church leaders with a biblical vision and practical resources for displaying God’s glory to the nations through healthy churches.

The speakers for the 2015 conference include  Dr. Danny Akin, president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina; Kenneth Edward Copeland, lead pastor of New Zion Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois; Garrett Kell, lead pastor of Del Ray Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia; and Mark Vroegop, lead pastor of College Park Church in Indiana. They will be joined by Thomas White, president of Cedarville University, and Dr. Jason Lee, dean of the school of biblical and theological studies.

Sessions will be held in the Jeremiah Chapel in the Dixon Ministry Center and the DeVries Theatre in the Stevens Student Center.

“Through biblical teaching and fellowship, the 9Marks Conference will challenge, strengthen and encourage pastors and ministry leaders as they serve their church and community,” said Bruce Traeger, director of church relations.

This year’s conference will feature talk-back sessions that spotlight the conference's previous two presenters in a head-to-head question and answer format. Participants of the conference will be able to ask questions after an initial rapid-fire questioning by presenters.

Regular registration for the conference is open to individuals, students and groups until November 5 at cedarville.edu/9marks.

The title “9Marks” references the ministries’ nine marks of church health and corporate topics: preaching, biblical theology, the Gospel, conversion, evangelism, membership, discipline, discipleship and leadership. 9Marks is based in Washington, D.C., and works with pastors, deacons and church leaders.
