Danny Akin, Ph.D., president of Southeastern Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, will speak at Cedarville University chapel on Friday, Nov. 13.
Akin’s message, titled “The Believer and His Bible,” will highlight passages from the book of 2 Timothy and is part of the 9Marks pastors conference.
Akin, who has been at Southeastern for nearly 20 years, has served as the president of the school since 2004. He previously served as dean of the school of theology and senior vice president for academic administration from 1996 to 2004.
Akin has authored commentaries on the books of Mark, 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus,and has also written numerous books, studies and devotionals.
He received his bachelor’s degree in biblical studies at Criswell College and went on to receive his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1989.
