Dannah Gresh, best-selling author and founder of Pure Freedom, an organization that teaches young girls about sexual purity, will speak in Cedarville University chapel on Wednesday, January 27, in the Jeremiah Chapel.
Gresh is best known for authoring the books “Lies Young Woman Believe” and “And the Bride Wore White” and regularly speaks to students around the country about modesty, sexual purity and relationships that honor God.
She has appeared in national media as a staunch defender of abstinence education. Gresh has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, TIME and Women’s Wear Daily, and has appeared on television on Fox News, Family Life Today, and Focus on the Family.
Her newest book release, “Pulling Back the Shades,” co-authored with Juli Slattery, addresses the exploitation of sexuality in the novel and film, “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
In addition, Gresh’s book series “Secret Keeper Girl” has developed into a nationwide tour that reaches more than 50,000 moms and daughters in more than 70 cities annually.
Gresh and her husband, Bob, co-founded Pure Freedom in 1996, and the ministry’s curriculum has been used by more than 500,000 people throughout the world.
The couple also founded Grace Prep High School in State College, Pennsylvania, and have spearheaded a ministry in Zambia that brings a message of abstinence to 72 schools through government health agencies in the African nation.
Dannah and Bob both graduated from Cedarville University and reside in Pennsylvania. They have three children: Robby, Autumn and Lexi, who is a senior at Cedarville.
