Cedarville bookstore hosts children's Halloween parade

by Madi Cannon, Public Relations Writer

The Cedarville University bookstore will host its fourth annual children’s Halloween book reading and parade on Friday, October 27, from 2-3:30 p.m. All community children ages 3-7 are welcome to attend the free event held in the Stevens Student Center.

Children are invited to come to the event dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes. They will participate in a trick-or-treat parade on campus, an interactive book reading, pumpkin decorating and enjoy homemade refreshments.

Special guests Anna and Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen” will also make an appearance. Many Cedarville students will be in costume to greet children and pass out candy.

“The point of the event is not sales but service,” explained Tammy Slone, manager of retail services. “It’s really to be a part of the campus community and engage parents and children in a fun experience.”

According to Slone, a large number of local children are expected to attend the parade and book reading. In the past, the event has received overwhelming responses from parents because it gives them a fun, safe place to bring their children.
