With graduation approaching, many departments and schools at Cedarville University are hosting their own special celebrations to recognize the academic achievements of their graduates. The school of nursing and the school of pharmacy will each host their annual ceremonies to recognize 145 students graduating from their programs.
The school of nursing will host its annual hooding and pinning ceremony on May 4 at 10 a.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center, celebrating the 33rd graduating class from the school of nursing. At the event, 75 Bachelor of Science in Nursing students will receive a pin and 36 Master of Science in Nursing students will receive a hood in honor of completing their respective programs.
“Our hooding and pinning ceremony is a long-standing tradition. It is a way for the school of nursing to personally recognize and honor our nursing graduates for their academic success,” said Dr. Angie Mickle, dean of the school of nursing. “This is a very special gathering where friends and family get to celebrate their students accomplishments in a more personal setting. Tears of joy and praises to God are abundant.”
The school of pharmacy will host its hooding ceremony on May 4 at 2 p.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center to recognize the 34 students graduating from the doctoral program. This will be the third class of students to graduate from Cedarville’s school of pharmacy.
“I am very pleased with the Doctor of Pharmacy graduates for 2018. They have represented Christ and the mission of our school well,” said Dr. Marc Sweeney, dean of the school of pharmacy. “It has been exciting to watch how many hospitals, pharmacies and health care organizations have sought to hire our graduates.”
