Jeff Beste, Director of Strategic Relations, didn’t even want to go to Cedarville. He was thinking about a different campus experience. Plus, in his eyes, he wasn’t spiritual enough to attend a school where the students were serious about their faith.
But his mom and dad gave Jeff a compelling option: go wherever he wanted but pay for it himself or attend Cedarville for a year. Jeff thought he’d transfer after that first year, but here he is at Cedarville, 38 years later. What Jeff found was a place to thrive educationally and professionally, personally and spiritually.
During his undergraduate years, Jeff was part of Swordbearers, a music ensemble similar to today’s HeartSong. His times spent on the team changed him as the team stayed with host families during tours and served at Christian camps.
What was Jeff’s greatest influence at Cedarville? “It wasn’t the Bible classes; it wasn’t chapel; it wasn’t our president, Dr. Dixon, although all of those things had an influence in my life,” Jeff said. “What really impacted me was the fact there were students my age who were excited about their walk with the Lord and concerned about my walk with the Lord.”
