Dwayne Moore, founder of Next Level Worship International, Inc., and Cedarville University’s worship department are partnering to host the global student worship gathering on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Moore founded Next Level Worship International, a nonprofit organization, in 2016. His mission is to help people love Christ and live a life of worship. The organization trains worship leaders around the world through one-on-one coaching, online coaching and conferences.
The global student worship gathering is an international live event geared toward college students. The livestream format allows students from universities all over the world to participate. The event will last around 45 minutes. There will be Scripture reading, three worship sets and a short devotional with the theme “Clean Hands, Pure Heart,” based on Psalm 24. Cedarville’s Resonance band is leading one of the worship sets.
Each year, 10-12 universities from around the globe participate in the conference, with institutions from the United States, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Germany joining this year.
Cedarville was first involved with the event in 2020, helping with planning and leading a worship set. Cedarville shares the same vision, values and mission as Next Level Worship, and they are glad to be partners. “We trust Cedarville,” Moore said.
Dr. Roger O’Neel, assistant chair and associate professor of worship at Cedarville, said, “This event will make the world a smaller place and help our students catch a global vision for worship ministry.”
Events like the global student worship gathering remind Christians to think broader than their current location. “An event like this reminds us that God is working around the world,” Moore said. “We aren’t alone in our walks with Christ, which is exciting and encouraging.”
