The numbers are in, and Cedarville University placement rates are showing impressive outcomes. Nine departments achieved 100% placement for members of the class of 2022, with graduates either employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation.
Each year, the National Association of College and Employers (NACE) collects national data for postgraduate placement rates among college graduates employed or in graduate school within six months of completing their undergraduate degrees. Cedarville University reached an overall 99% placement rate for the class of 2022. This is 12-15% higher than the last four years’ national average.
Although Cedarville’s 99% placement rate is already higher than the national average, some programs registered a perfect placement rate. These programs include allied health, psychology, nursing, social work, education, science and math, communication, English, literature and modern languages and pharmacy. Business and engineering academic programs placed at 99%.
Not only are the numbers impressive, but so are the opportunities Cedarville graduates are offered. Kaylee Whicker, a 2022 communication graduate, accepted a job working for a company ranked in the top 50 of the Fortune 500 immediately upon graduation.
"My professors helped me look at class projects and life problems through the lens of my faith and Christian worldview in order to communicate clearly with a deep purpose," she added.
Whicker has seen how her training to think critically has benefited her as she works on campaigns and projects for her company.
“Asking ‘why’ or ‘what’s behind this?’ as a habit has influenced my direct work as I am expected to keep the company’s main message points, themes and goals in mind when I work on campaigns, and I’m glad I have that question in the back of my mind so that I can produce something meaningful or based on a core objective for my team,” said Whicker.
Professors across the campus work together for the interest of their students.
“Our departments are interconnected, and we help each other employ our students,” said Dr. Kevin Jones, dean of the school of education. “We have career services that position our students well. They do a great job of putting potential employers in the pathway of our students.”
Departments across Cedarville’s campus work to provide proper experience in order to prepare their students well for post graduation. “We give our students enough experience in their field so they are well prepared and confident,” said Dr. Lori Ferguson, assistant professor of education. “We have given our students the tools and excellent strategies to step out into their classrooms to do great.”
The numbers make it clear that Cedarville offers excellent education that prepares graduates to launch into the workforce with confidence.
