When high school students are searching for the college they will attend, many factors come into play. Among the most obvious include whether the university has its major of interest and how successful graduates are in beginning their careers or graduate school opportunities.
According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, Cedarville University's 98.7% career outcome rate--a statistic that represents recent graduates securing a position or graduate school within six months of graduation--is 13% higher than the national average. This data indicates how well Cedarville graduates are prepared by their professors and the overall Cedarville experience. The career outcome rate is determined by a survey of the most recent graduating class.
Jeff Reep, director of career servicesat Cedarville, attributes the high career outcome rates to students committed to their academics, faculty members who understand their discipline and are exceptional teachers, and high-quality academic programs.
“Cedarville University is filled with motivated students, involved faculty and staff and established professional programs like nursing, engineering, education, business, and social work- to name a few- that lead directly into a career,” said Reep. “All of these are factors that contribute to Cedarville’s above-average career outcome rate.”
The career services office also offers resources, including resume preparation and mock job interview sessions, to students and alumni so they will be prepared for life after graduation. They also assist students in exploring different career opportunities through assessments and networking with employers through the spring and fall career fairs.
“We offer these resources to help students begin their college experience with the end in mind,” explained Reep.
