Important Scholarship Information

We’d like to pass along helpful information about scholarships from Kate Cooper, Cedarville’s Assistant Director of Donor-Funded Scholarships.
I manage the donor-funded scholarship program here at Cedarville, and I am often asked about what our awarding timeline looks like for the school year. Here’s some information that may be helpful for you and your students!
My team at Cedarville is the bridge between donors — who are investing in students through scholarships — and students. To be eligible for any donor-funded scholarships, your student must first complete two important forms: Cedarville’s general application and the FAFSA.
The priority deadline was January 17; however, the application is not closed. After this date, scholarship selection committees will begin reviewing applications. Students that want to be considered for these scholarships should still apply ASAP. These funds are limited, and we strongly encourage your student to apply early!
Scholarship Timeline
- December – Scholarship applications open
- February – Schools and departments select their academic program scholarships
- May – Majority of scholarships are awarded and applied to student Financial Aid packages
To ensure that your students stay up to date with new opportunities or updates on their current scholarships, encourage them to check their email and The Daily Buzz regularly.
These donor awards are primarily awarded and limited to returning students. In order to complete the Academic Works application, a student will need to be a registered student, which occurs after the majority of these scholarships are awarded for incoming freshmen and transfers. If your incoming freshman or transfer student is seeking additional aid, they must work with their Admissions Counselor.
If students have questions about donor-funded scholarships, they can contact finaid@cedarville.edu to work with a Financial Aid team member.
