What You and Your Student Need to Know About Counseling Services

Cedarville University's Counseling Services department provides vital services to the campus community. Behind the scenes and always confidential, this team's work enhances students' spiritual growth through compassionate counseling, mentorship, and small-group opportunities.

You should know that a commitment to biblical truth is at the heart of everything Counseling Services does, recognizing that true and lasting change is only possible through the transformational power of the Holy Spirit. Our team of professional counselors is dedicated to applying the principles of God's Word to every counseling relationship, and they are committed to serving students at Cedarville with Christlike compassion.

Types of Appointments Available to Students

• Walk-in appointments: Walk-in appointments are made available to students every Monday and Thursday from 3–5 p.m. No appointment is needed to meet with a counselor during these times.
• Consultations: Any student can request a one-time consultation with a counselor. This takes place during the chapel hour.
• Seminars: Throughout the year, counseling services provides seminars on stress and anxiety.
• Ongoing individual and group sessions: Students can sign up for ongoing counseling with a licensed professional. There is currently a waitlist for ongoing counseling. Counseling Services will provide referrals for counseling in the community if the client would rather not wait.

Things to Know About Counseling Services

• Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Monday–Friday.
• Counselors are all licensed professionals by the state of Ohio.
• Counseling is confidential.
• Services are provided free to all students who are enrolled full-time.
• Counseling Services is not a crisis center and, therefore, not open 24/7. 988 is available 24/7 as the national suicide prevention hotline.
