Circulation
Circulation student assistants are responsible for:
- Assisting patrons at the service desk
- Checking in and checking out materials
- Answering basic research questions
- Shelving library materials
Once you complete two semesters as a student assistant, you may have the opportunity to be promoted to a shift supervisor position. Shift supervisors are responsible for:
- Opening and closing the library
- Organizing and completing the responsibilities on each shift
- Reporting information to the Circulation Services Manager
The Circulation area is located on the upper level of the library at the service desk. These positions require some evening and weekend hours, on a rotating basis.
Collection Services
Collection Services student assistants are responsible for:
- Processing new materials
- Preparing and shelving periodicals
- Assisting with OhioLINK and InterLibrary Loan
Collection Services is located on the upper level of the library in the staff work area. These student positions do not require evening and weekend hours.
Curriculum Materials Center (CMC)
CMC student assistants are responsible for:
- Assisting patrons in locating books and educational materials
- Shelving CMC materials
- Creating book displays
Resources in the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) include children’s and young adult literature, preK-12 curriculum, Christian education materials, educational games, and many other teaching aids.
Digital Services
Digital Services student assistants are responsible for:
- Scanning, transcribing, editing, and uploading archival documents to the institutional repository
- Recording, editing, and mixing audio files
The Digital Services area is located on the lower level of the library. These student positions do not require evening and weekend hours.
MediaPLEX
MediaPLEX student assistants are responsible for:
- Helping patrons with multimedia projects
- Selling supplies
- Assisting in running equipment
Common projects include color printing, scanning, 3D printing, laminating, crafting, binding, and equipment checkout. The MediaPLEX is located on the lower level of the library. These student positions require evening and weekend hours.
