Library Instruction
Instruction Sessions
Students learn research skills more readily when they have a specific information need. Our library instruction sessions are designed with this in mind.
Based on the research need(s) of your students, we will design a classroom experience to address that need; providing both the tools and the instruction to properly use, locate, and evaluate information necessary to complete their assignment(s).
To keep this learning experience profitable, we may ask that the students involved complete a brief evaluation after finishing their assignment.
Class Resources
Upon request, librarians can create an online research guide to direct your students to the most useful research databases, print resources, and trusted websites needed to complete an assignment. Known as LibGuides, this online tool can be customized to include news feeds, student and instructor recommended links, and more.
To see examples of how your fellow professors and instructors are using these guides, visit libguides.cedarville.edu/researchguides.
Classrooms
The Library Computer Classroom, located in room 032 on the lower level of the Centennial Library, is a computer facility for classes which need occasional access to computer software on the network for special demonstrations. The 22-seat room has 22 individual computers and an interactive instructor's computer workstation.
