Independent Studies and Out of Class Courses
Non-traditional Courses are internships, independent studies, and out-of-class courses which allow students to complete graduation requirements on schedule. To register for this session, a student must complete an "Non-traditional Course Request Form," available in the office of the registrar. Students must obtain approval from the department chair, the faculty member teaching the course, and the academic advisor.
No lists of non-traditional classes are available because of the variance from year to year. Check with the chair of a department to find out if a given course is available.
Students interested in completing a non-traditional class must receive departmental approval and complete the registration form available in the office of the registrar. Before leaving campus for the summer, students need to obtain their coursework from the professor. The students are responsible to contact the professor.
Students who need to drop or change the number of credit hours for a non-traditional class must contact the office of the registrar by the end of the 100% refund period in order to receive a full refund. Only courses that are within the parameters of the drop/add schedule will be considered. Questions about this session may be directed to the office of the registrar.
