Admission Requirements

Cedarville University transforms lives through excellent education and intentional discipleship in submission to biblical authority. We are a community of like-minded Christ followers, and we encourage applicants who have put their faith in Jesus Christ to apply to our graduate certificate programs. 

Bible and Ministry Certificate Admission Requirements

For the Biblical and Theological Studies, Biblical Counseling, and Worship Leadership certificates:

  • Degree Requirements — Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution
  • Preferred GPA — 2.3 or higher
  • Cedarville University undergraduate students may enroll in up to two courses during their senior year.

Business Certificate Admission Requirements

For the Cybersecurity Management, Healthcare Administration, and Leadership certificates:

  • Degree Requirements — Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution
  • Preferred GPA — 2.75 or higher
  • Cedarville University undergraduate students may enroll in up to two courses during their senior year.

For the Operations Management certificate:

  • Prerequisite — Have completed an undergraduate course in statistics
  • Degree Requirements — Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution
  • Preferred GPA — 2.75 or higher
  • Cedarville University undergraduate students may enroll in up to two courses during their senior year.

Global Public Health Certificate Admission Requirements

For the Global Public Health certificate:

  • Degree Requirements — Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution
  • Preferred GPA — 3.0 or higher
  • Cedarville University undergraduate students may enroll in up to two courses during their senior year.

Nursing Certificate Admission Requirements

For the Nursing Education and Nursing Leadership certificates:

  • Degree Requirements
    • Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from a regionally accredited or otherwise approved institution
    • Have completed or are currently enrolled in at least a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree
    • Hold an active, unencumbered license as a registered nurse (RN) in the United States for clinical experience
  • Preferred GPA — 3.0 or higher

Application Requirements

We encourage you to apply early for admission to Cedarville. As the applicant, you are responsible for gathering and submitting the necessary materials required to have your application reviewed.

  • Official Transcripts — You must request these from your previous institutions (include graduate transcripts for any transfer credit you want considered).
  • Christian Character Reference — You will provide an email address on your application and we will send your reference a form to complete.
  • Academic/Professional Recommendation — You will provide an email address on your application and we will send your recommender a form to complete.

Applicants must also affirm their commitment to the Cedarville Covenant and agree to abide by the graduate student handbook. Applicants should review the University’s doctrinal statement to understand our beliefs and Christian heritage, which serves as the foundation for our community.

Each applicant will be reviewed on an individual basis according to criteria established by Graduate Enrollment and the academic school offering the certificate. Applicants who present satisfactory evidence of their ability to perform at the graduate level are eligible for admission to the certificate program.
