Affordability and academic excellence at the center of new initiative
As higher education costs rise across the country, many students and their families are looking for ways to reduce the cost of a college degree without sacrificing academic quality. In response to these concerns, Cedarville University has developed a three-year completion plan for students pursuing 12 academic degree programs.
As students successfully complete the requirements, they will reduce their cost for the degree while potentially beginning their career one year earlier. And thanks to Cedarville University’s 97.4 percent career placement rate within six months of graduation, the financial impact is significant.
The new three-year completion option can reduce college expenses up to $15,000. The initiative takes effect for the fall 2017 semester.
The programs, many containing multiple tracks, in this new initiative include:
“The goal is to provide a different avenue for students to complete their programs while maintaining the quality in expectations of the program,” said Dr. Thomas Mach, assistant vice president for academics.
All of the three-year program options have the same degree requirements as their four-year counterparts, so students do not sacrifice the skills and experience necessary for their career paths. Students take courses on campus year-round, allowing them to benefit from Cedarville’s valuable residential experience.
“Ever since I arrived at Cedarville University, one of my main concerns has been to make Cedarville University accessible to as many students as possible, because I believe so strongly in our mission to equip students to live 'for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ,'" said Dr. Thomas White, president of Cedarville University. “Providing three-year program options enables students to join the work force earlier, while making the most of their education for the kingdom of God.”
