My Journey of Faith and Resilience - Psalm 40:2 — 10/2/2024 10:00 AM
Today's Alumni Week speaker is Mrs. Connie Jenkins, Cedarville University trustee. Mrs. Jenkins shares how God sustained her through trials and adversity in her life, and stresses the importance of properly stewarding what God has given her.
Notes
Trustee Connie Jenkins shared her testimony in chapel today. She shared different trials that she faced and how Christ led her through it all. Following her testimony, Jenkins shared a list of the most important things God has taught her. She wanted the students to hear about what she learned and apply it to their own personal lives. The list she provided is as follows:
- Nothing that I have is mine. I am a steward of the things that God chooses to entrust me with.
- Abiding faith will be tested and sometimes found wavering.
- Suffering brought spiritual maturity and taught me to walk by faith and not by sight.
- There will be more trials like this. I’m going to have to trust Him in those times of further testing.
She finished telling her story by pointing the chapel toward Psalm 40:2, which says, “He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”
