How to add an Image to an Email in Google Mail

Google Mail now has an option to let you add images to display in an email. You have the option of uploading images from your computer or from the web.

Adding an Image to an Email

  1. Log in to your Google Mail account.
  2. Click the [COMPOSE] button. A "New Message" pop-up box will appear in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  3. Complete your message as usual, and then place your cursor where you would like the image to appear.
  4. From the bottom toolbar, click [Insert Photo] icon (mountains).
  5. In the resulting dialogue box, navigate to the desired image by using one of the following options:
    • Under the [Photos] tab, select an image from your Google Photos.
    • Under the [Albums] tab, click an album name to select an image from your Google Albums.
    • Under the [Upload] tab, drag and drop an image to the text box or click [Choose photos to upload] to select an image from your computer.
    • Under the [Web Address (URL)] tab, enter or paste the image URL into the provided field.
  6. When you have selected an image, click [Insert].

Note:

You can add an image as a file attachment by clicking the [As attachment] button in the lower-right corner of the "Insert Photo" dialogue box. The image will appear at the bottom of your message as a file recipients can download.
