Cedarville University’s theatre program will present “The Power of a Story,” a dynamic, student-driven showcase exploring the transformative power of storytelling, on April 11-12 at 7:00 p.m. in the DeVries Theatre.
This free event, open to the public, invites audiences to experience an evening filled with scenes, monologues and musical performances centered on themes of hope, redemption, reconciliation and restoration. Donations will be accepted to support student participation in theatre festivals and fund training opportunities.
What sets this production apart is its entirely student-led approach — students curated, directed and designed every aspect of the show, demonstrating their creativity and leadership by bringing this event to life.
“This showcase is a tribute to the power of theatre to move and inspire,” said Stacey Stratton, associate professor of theatre. “Through these performances, we hope audiences will experience how storytelling connects people in meaningful ways.”
As a special addition to Cedarville’s theatre season, this production was created without a budget, requiring students to use existing materials for costumes, sets and props. Because of this, admission is free, allowing anyone in the community to enjoy the work of these emerging theatre artists.
