COUNTDOWN TO COMMENCEMENT

by Allison Craft, Student Public Relations Writer

To say God is incomprehensible means that human minds can never fully know Him. While people can know things about God and have a relationship with Him, His nature is difficult for the human mind to grasp.

Dr. Ronni Kurtz. This concept is what has driven Dr. Ronni Kurtz to publish his book, “Light Unapproachable,” with InterVarsity Press. Kurtz, assistant professor of theology at Cedarville University, began this process while he was writing his dissertation on God’s unchanging nature.

Throughout this process, Kurtz kept coming back to the idea of the incomprehensibility of God’s nature. His notes and revisions on a large scrap of paper led to his book on a topic that is not often written about in theology.

“The origin of the book is a mixture of frustration and awe,” said Kurtz. “Trying to write about or discuss God can often be difficult, and the reason it’s difficult is because He is incomprehensible.”

Kurtz has published several books since joining the faculty at Cedarville University, including “Fruitful Theology,” “No Shadow of Turning” and “Proclaiming the Triune God.” In “Light Unapproachable,” Kurtz answers common questions about why God is beyond human understanding.

“Light Unapproachable” was published in November and is available on Amazon.
