One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

by Allison Craft, Student Public Relations Writer

Cedarville University is striking a chord with worship communities through Cedarville Worship Publishing, a new initiative designed to publish student songwriters’ original worship music for churches, chapels, and ministries everywhere.

Launched by the Cedarville University Department of Music and Worship, the company provides students with hands-on experience in songwriting, copyright management, licensing, and music publishing. The program’s goal is to create a collection of biblically grounded, congregational worship songs that reflect the heart of Cedarville’s community.

“We want a voice that is unique to Cedarville,” said John Chilcote, assistant professor of worship. “This initiative is about shepherding our songwriters, stewarding their talents, and sharing their songs with the broader worship community.”

Through the program's website, www.cedarvilleworship.com , local churches can access a wide range of resources, including chord charts, lyric sheets, musical arrangements, and recordings of both vocals and instrumentals. The focus is to provide theologically rich music that helps worshippers focus on God.

Cedarville Worship Publishing features compositions by students and alumni of Cedarville’s songwriting and worship programs. This initiative not only encourages emerging talent but also equips students with the skills to make a lasting impact on worship practices in churches across the country.

“Our desire is to provide songs that are theologically rich and spiritually impactful,” Chilcote added. “It’s exciting to see students use their gifts to glorify God and serve others.”

By developing the next generation of worship leaders and musicians, Cedarville University is helping to shape the future of worship music while staying true to its mission of glorifying Christ.
