Sidney Beckman

Biography

Sidney began working in Cedarville's Counseling Services in 2024 after obtaining her bachelor's and Master of Social Work degrees to pursue a career in substance use and mental health treatment. Her work experience has included recovery and community mental health case management, substance use treatment, criminal justice system advocacy, and serving as the executive director of a women’s transitional housing program. After growing up as a local and attending Cedarville University herself, Sidney has a heart for college students and their unique phase of life. She is passionate about combining biblical truth with trauma-informed care to better equip students to live in mental, emotional, and spiritual freedom.

Why Cedarville?

My time as a Cedarville student was pivotal to my growth both as a person and as a follower of Christ. And yet, being a college student often comes with many challenges. I am grateful that Cedarville provides the opportunity to walk alongside students during this phase of their lives. This position allows me the privilege of helping students find healing from their mental health struggles while ultimately pursuing a deeper relationship with the Lord.
