One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

Federal Nursing Loans are awarded to undergraduate nursing majors who demonstrate financial need and are enrolled at least half-time in courses that are degree-applicable. The Nursing Loan is interest-free while the student is enrolled at least half-time. The fixed 5% interest rate does not start to accrue until after the 9-month grace period, which begins when a student graduates, withdraws or is no longer enrolled at least half-time.

1. Complete the FAFSA

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.

2. Process of Awarding

The Financial Aid Office runs reports at the beginning of a new academic year to obtain a list of all undergraduate Nursing students who have completed the FAFSA. After review, if a student meets the criteria, the loan will be added to the student’s Financial Aid portal at “Estimated.” The student will be notified, and they can either “Accept” or “Reject” the loan in their portal. If interested in this loan, you may also email loans@cedarville.edu, and we will review to see if you meet the criteria.

3. Complete Loan Documents

After “Accepting” the Nursing Loan, the Financial Aid Office works with University Accounting Services (UAS) to manage the loan documents and repayment.

4. Repayment

Students will begin repayment of the Nursing Loan after their 9-month grace period from their date of graduation, withdrawal or less than half-time enrollment. Repayments are made to UAS, not Cedarville University.

NOTE: If you consolidate loans, the Nursing Loan is not automatically included in that consolidation process. You must work with UAS and the consolidation company to include the Nursing Loan.
