Intramural Sports Formats

The format of most intramural sports is either league play with a playoff or a one-day tournament. League play is normally organized as pool play, where teams are divided into leagues based on skill level and divisions based on the number of teams signed up. Teams will first be scheduled to play round robin competitions within a particular division (4–6 games). Then, the top teams are selected to enter a combined, single-elimination playoff including all leagues to determine the overall champion in a particular sport.

The format of the one-day tournaments will vary depending upon the number of teams or players involved and the amount of time allotted. Most often these tournaments are played in a single-elimination format.

Pray with us that we each stay active and healthy, walking in the ways of the Lord our God!
