Undecided? Choosing a Major
Are you undecided about your major? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Nearly 15 percent of the freshman class (comparable to the national average) begins with a major of "undecided." At some point, 25 percent of all students will have an undecided major, and more than half of Cedarville students will change their major at least once.
At Cedarville, we will guide you through this period of academic exploration. From helpful academic events designed specifically for undeclared students to the MyPlan Career Assessment, academic advising, interest surveys, and a spiritual gifts inventory, we offer the resources and services that will help you choose a major.
Office of the Registrar
Our registrar's office takes an up-front approach to serving undecided students. From assigning an academic adviser to providing curriculum guides listing the needed courses for any particular major, the office will make your journey that much easier. It also facilitates the College Level Examination Program — an opportunity to earn college credit in subjects in which you already have college-level knowledge and understanding.
Christian Ministries
Christian Ministries offers a wide variety of ministry opportunities, and they all provide insight into the daily work of various careers. If you’re thinking about education, join a tutoring ministry. If you’re considering social work, spend some time on the crisis pregnancy or abstinence counseling team. Thinking about nursing? Volunteer for a hospital ministry. Criminal justice? Try a jail or detention center ministry.
Career Services
Career Services teaches résumé and interviewing skills, hosts career fairs, prepares you for internships, and offers interest and skills testing. But more than that, they will help you think about your career choice as a calling — using your unique God-given talents and abilities to make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ.
