Field Experiences

One of the key components to outstanding preparation our program provides is that our teacher candidates spend at least 600 hours in field and clinical experience by the time they graduate. Time spent in real classrooms with real students provide our teacher candidates with necessary skills and practical application of what they are learning in their Teacher Education Program courses. Starting as early as freshman year, our teacher candidates participate in a field experience in a wide variety of school settings including rural schools, urban schools, suburban schools, alternative schools, and tutoring experiences.

As a middle childhood education major, you'll have the unique opportunity to gain classroom experience in Cedarville University's own teaching and learning lab, Symbiotica. Under the guidance of your education faculty, you will get to teach local homeschool students. You'll be immersed in your own education curriculum while you teach in Symbiotica, so you'll immediately be able to put what you've learned into practice!
